Check Hardware Connection
The router to modem connection should be established correctly, because Orbi router will get the signals from modem. The Ethernet cable must be connected tightly and in correct ports (router WAN port and modem LAN port).
Ensure All Cable Are Connected and Not Damaged
The Ethernet cable for connection and power cords must be in good condition and not damaged or cut from anywhere. If you find any damaged on any cable then replace the cable straight away.
Make Sure Satellites Are Connected
Satellites can be connected to the router wirelessly; you just have to power on the router and satellites and press the Sync button. But if the devices are not connected, then you can use the backhaul connection method to link them. It is possible through the Ethernet cable.
Complete Orbi Configuration
You should complete the configuration process by accessing the Orbilogin.net interface and adjust the settings.
- Connect computer/laptop to Orbi.
- Open web browser and search orbilogin.net.
- Enter the username and password.
- Access the interface and configure the settings.
If Orbilogin interface not work, then you can use the Netgear Orbi app.
Reboot Orbi Router and Satellites
Refreshing the router and satellites hardware, settings and clearing the cache, can dispel the Orbi purple light issue. Reboot the router and satellites by turning them off and on once.
Hard Reset Last Option
In very rare cases, user need to factory reset the Orbi device to dispel the issue, but after resetting the device, you have to complete the Orbi router setup again;
- Find the RSEET pinhole button.
- Use pin or sharp object and give it a long press.
- The reset process will start.
