Complete Guide For Netgear Orbi RBS50Y Setup

In Orbi mesh system, you will get more than two networking devices (Orbi router and satellites). But, you also can get single separate satellite like Orbi RBS50Y, which you can connect with your router in your home. If you have Orbi router connected to the home network, then you must complete the Orbi router setup first and then start the installation of the Orbi RBS50Y satellite.

There are only three major steps which you to follow to complete the Orbi outdoor satellite installation, which are connecting with the router physically, configure settings, and manage settings.

Connect with router

To connect the Orbi satellite extender to your router in home, you can do it with the help of the Sync button.

Just turn on the router or Orbi router.
After that, connect the satellites to power.

There is a power connector on the back of the device, in which you have to insert the power cord and connect the adapter to the wall socket.

Then to sync the router with the satellite, just press the Sync button.

First, press the router Sync button and then within 2 minutes press the Sync button on the satellite.

Then, go in to the updated browser and search URL orbilogin.net or orbilogin.com.
Searching the URL will take you to the interface login page.
Here, enter the username and password, if you don’t know, then find it on the label or user manual of Orbi.
Access the interface and you can now easily configure the Orbi RBS50Y and complete the setup.

Configure via phone

To configure the satellite via Android or iPhone, just connect them to the Orbi network.
Then, go in to the Play Store or App Store and download the Netgear Orbi app in from here.
Open or launch the app and log in to it via your Email ID and password.

If you don’t have any Orbi account, then tap on Sign Up option and create new account entering Email ID, name, password, and confirm password.

You will log in to the app and now, you can easily adjust the Orbi ABS50Y settings and networks.

Update Orbi Satellites Device

Go to Orbilogin.com or orbilogin.net and log in to the interface.
Enter to Advanced Settings> Administration> Firmware Update tab> open Online Update.
In this tab, just click on the Check button and select Update All button.

Use IP Address to Login

If you can’t log in to the interface via Orbilogin.net or Orbilogin.com, then you can use Orbi IP address which mostly is 192.168.1.1.

Use Updated Web Browser

Using outdated web browser to reach to the interface login page can also trouble you with Orbilogin.com not working problem. To dispel, just update the web browser and then try to log in to the interface.

Reboot Orbi Device

You can reboot Orbi RBS50Y satellite to dispel the problem follow some of the instructions given below;

Find the power On/Off on the Satellite device and press it twice.
Plug out the satellite power adapter from wall socket and plug it in again.
